VOL. 1

In Paradisus Terestris, Hall uses the juxtaposition of the human body and native flora to imply a collision between Culture and Nature.

Australian artist Fiona Hall’s series of stunning botanical sculptures made from sardine tins is called Paradisus Terrestris. The lids of the tins roll back to reveal tiny sculptural forms. They now live in the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra.

Not only are sardines delicious, these small fish are packed with nutrients that can be beneficial to health.

LEMON

WITH SARDINES

The oily, salty taste of tinned sardines is a match made in heaven for the acidic tang of the fresh lemon sliced on top of this delicious flatbread. Inspired by long summer lunches underneath Provençal plane trees, this is destined to be served with a chilled bottle of crisp rosé. Find the recipe here.
